The Tunisian Football Federation has decided to dismiss head coach Sabri Lamouchi following a heavy 5–1 defeat to Sweden in their opening match of the 2026 World Cup.
The result triggered an immediate reaction from the federation, leading to Lamouchi’s removal from his position just one game into the tournament.
With this decision, Lamouchi becomes the first coach to be sacked during the 2026 World Cup, highlighting the intense pressure surrounding Tunisia’s campaign.
The French manager had taken charge of the national team in January 2026 but lasted only five matches in total before being relieved of his duties.
