Renard appointed new Tunisia head coach after Lamouchi dismissal

Hervé Renard has been named the new head coach of Tunisia following the dismissal of Sabri Lamouchi after a 5–1 defeat to Sweden at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the Tunisian Football Federation moving quickly to restructure the national team’s coaching setup.

According to the Tunisian Football Federation, Hervé Renard has accepted the role of head coach of the Tunisia national team and has officially been appointed as the new manager.

This decision comes after the dismissal of Sabri Lamouchi, who was sacked following Tunisia’s heavy 5–1 defeat against Sweden at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The result led the Tunisian Football Federation to quickly make changes to the coaching staff.

With this appointment, Renard once again takes charge of an African national team, adding another chapter to his managerial career. He has previously coached five African national teams: Zambia, Angola, Côte d’Ivoire, Morocco, and Tunisia.
