Adidas has unveiled a special new design for Lionel Messi named “El Último Tango,” marking what could be the football icon’s final World Cup appearance. The release carries a strong sense of nostalgia, arriving 20 years after Messi’s first World Cup in 2006, when he stepped onto the global stage wearing the F50.6 TUNiT boots.
The new F50 Messi edition blends the classic aesthetic of the 2006 era with cutting-edge 2026 performance innovation. Its official colorway, “Ivory/Semi Blue/Icey Blue,” features a clean white base highlighted with sky-blue accents, gold detailing, and stylized claw-like Three Stripes inspired by Argentina’s national identity.

Beyond its heritage-driven design, the boot is fully modern in construction. It includes a Halocage+ TPU frame for targeted stability during high-intensity movement, along with a HybridTouch+ upper designed to enhance ball control and precision. The result is a performance-focused boot wrapped in a minimalist, elegant design that aligns seamlessly with Argentina’s national team kit.
Given Messi’s long history of signature boots throughout his legendary career, this release feels particularly symbolic. It represents a full-circle moment—linking his early breakthrough to what may be the closing chapter of his World Cup journey, blending legacy, emotion, and elite performance in one design.
