The final standings in Group D of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, featuring host nation the United States, have been confirmed. The U.S. finished top of the group, with Australia and Paraguay taking the remaining qualification spots.
At Los Angeles Stadium, the United States suffered a 3-2 defeat to an already-eliminated Türkiye in its final group-stage match.
After failing to score in their first two games, Türkiye found the net through Arda Güler in the 10th minute and Orkun Kökçü in the 31st. The United States responded with goals from Auston Trusty in the 3rd minute and Sebastian Berhalter in the 49th. In stoppage time, Kaan Ayhan struck in the eighth minute of added time to hand Türkiye a dramatic victory and a winning farewell to the tournament.
Despite the defeat, the United States advanced as Group D winners and will face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 32.

Meanwhile, at San Francisco Stadium, Paraguay and Australia played out a goalless draw.
Although the Socceroos enjoyed a slight edge throughout the match, neither side was able to break the deadlock, with the result proving enough for both teams to progress.

In the final Group D standings, the United States finished first with six points. Australia claimed second place with four points, while Paraguay also ended on four points to finish third. Türkiye concluded its World Cup campaign with three points.
