Spain defender Marc Cucurella has kept his promise to get a tattoo of national team coach Luis de la Fuente after Spain won the World Cup.
The 28-year-old had pledged to tattoo the coach’s face on his body if Spain lifted the trophy. After Spain defeated Argentina in the final, De la Fuente jokingly said he expected Cucurella to honor his commitment.
Cucurella later shared videos of the tattoo process on Instagram with the caption, “Promise fulfilled.”
The defender, who carried his wife’s pyjama top as a lucky charm throughout the tournament, started all eight matches for Spain and helped the team keep seven clean sheets during their successful World Cup campaign.
