Colombia secured the last remaining place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ghana in the final Round of 32 match at Kansas City Stadium.
Los Cafeteros made the breakthrough early in the contest. In the 14th minute, Jhon Arias converted Luis Suárez's pass from close range to give Colombia the lead. Just before halftime, Johan Mojica came close to doubling the advantage with a header, but Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi produced an excellent save.

Colombia thought they had extended their lead in the 56th minute, but the goal was correctly ruled out for offside following a VAR review. Two minutes later, Luis Díaz was denied by Ati-Zigi in a one-on-one situation, keeping Ghana's hopes alive despite Colombia's dominance.
The narrow victory sends Colombia into the Round of 16 as the final team to qualify. They will travel to Vancouver to face Switzerland on 7th July.
