Boos rang out from the stands as U.S. President Donald Trump and FIFA President Gianni Infantino stepped onto the pitch for the World Cup trophy presentation at the New York New Jersey Stadium on Sunday.
Infantino announced that Trump would hand the trophy to the winners of the World Cup final.
Spain defeated defending champions Argentina 1–0 to lift the trophy and claim the title. The jeers had faded by the time Trump and Infantino presented medals to the players and coaching staff.
