Brazil were eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Norway, bringing their tournament to an early end.
Following the match, Neymar officially announced his retirement from international football. The Brazilian star leaves the national team after 16 years, having made 130 appearances and scored 80 goals for the Seleção.
Speaking after the game, Neymar said: "I tried, I really tried. Everything started for me at MetLife Stadium, and now it ends here. My journey with the Brazil national team has come to an end."

Neymar retires as Brazil's all-time leading goalscorer and becomes only the second Brazilian player after Pelé to score in four different FIFA World Cup tournaments.
