Bayern dealt double injury blow as Saibari and Gnabry face lengthy spells out

FC Bayern have confirmed that Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry will both face extended periods on the sidelines after suffering injuries in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund.

FC Bayern have confirmed that Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry will both be unavailable for the foreseeable future after picking up injuries during Saturday’s Bundesliga encounter against Borussia Dortmund.

In an official statement, the German champions revealed that both players sustained their respective injuries during the 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena, a result that saw Bayern maintain their position at the top of the Bundesliga table.

The clash presented Bayern with an opportunity to move three points clear of their closest rivals in the early stages of the title race. However, the Bavarians ultimately had to settle for a share of the points, with the evening also bringing significant injury concerns for the squad.

Michael Olise was another player who raised concerns after requesting to be substituted during the second half.

Saibari has been diagnosed with a tear to the syndesmotic ligament in his right ankle. The midfielder has already undergone successful surgery to repair the damage.

Gnabry, meanwhile, suffered a muscular injury to his left hamstring.

Although the club has yet to provide a definitive recovery timeline, both attacking players are expected to spend an extended period on the sidelines, potentially ruling them out for several weeks or even months.
