Shortly after Real Madrid published a statement supporting the reversal of the privatization of the World Cup and comparing the measure to Tebas' CVC deal, the LaLiga president wasted no time in responding forcefully to the club, directly targeting Florentino Pérez.
His response was published under the title "The Not-So-Superior Being," a clear reference to the Real Madrid president. In it, the LaLiga chief initially acknowledged that the first part of Madrid's statement was "flawless," agreeing that "FIFA cannot unilaterally dispose of football's future revenues without the involvement of the clubs, which are the ones that bear the costs and risks."
From that point on, however, the two sides diverged.
"By the way, why did it take you so long to respond? What was Anas doing in New York during the week of the final? And is it just a coincidence that, apparently, JP Morgan was also involved in this operation, just as it was with the Super League?" Tebas remarked.
Tebas also strongly defended the CVC project and categorically rejected Real Madrid's narrative.
"The deal was voluntary: every club freely decided whether to join. Real Madrid chose not to participate, is not bound by it, and has not committed a single euro of its revenues," he argued, reminding everyone that the agreement had been approved by an overwhelming majority of clubs.
He then fired back:
"Precisely as an exercise of the autonomy that the statement itself claims to defend."

Tebas went on to describe Florentino Pérez's position as contradictory.
"The person who criticizes other clubs for committing future revenues has himself pledged future revenues from the Bernabéu, brought an investment fund into certain stadium businesses for twenty years, and has spent nearly a year proposing formulas that would allow outside investors to enter Real Madrid."
He summarized what he sees as Florentino's doctrine in simple terms:
"When Real Madrid freely decides to do it, it's modernization and financial strategy; when the other clubs freely decide to do it, it's a mortgage."
He also accused Real Madrid of being obsessed with LaLiga and with trying to undermine him personally.
"What an obsession with LaLiga. Perhaps it has something to do with losing lawsuit after lawsuit, and legal complaint after legal complaint, year after year."
A 'war' with no end in sight
Tebas concluded his attack by once again criticizing the European Super League project:
"The 'Not-So-Superior Being' has very little credibility left to lecture anyone about the future of football. Remember when the Super League was supposed to save us because football was supposedly bankrupt? What a vision."
He ended his remarks with unmistakable irony.
