Dominik Szoboszlai has committed his long-term future to Liverpool by signing a new five-year contract that will keep him at Anfield until the summer of 2031.
Liverpool have finalized a new agreement with the Hungary international after successful negotiations with his representatives, ensuring that one of the club’s key midfield figures will remain at Anfield for years to come.
Securing Szoboszlai’s future is a major boost for new Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola. Despite having two years remaining on his previous contract, the club moved quickly to reward the midfielder with improved terms and extend his stay.
Talks over a new deal began in late 2025 and accelerated in recent weeks before reaching a final agreement.
Since joining Liverpool from RB Leipzig in a £60 million move in the summer of 2023, Szoboszlai has established himself as an important part of the team’s midfield and has played a significant role in the club’s recent success.

Speaking after signing his new contract, Szoboszlai said: "It’s maybe my biggest day. There are a couple in front of it – probably when I signed for Liverpool the first one and when I got my baby, of course. But in my football career, I can say this is in the top three."
"Very happy. I can’t wait to go again and again and again. I’m just happy to be here, as I’ve said many times."
So far, Szoboszlai has made 147 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions, scoring 28 goals.
His first season at Anfield ended with success in the Carabao Cup, before he played an important role in Liverpool’s 2024–25 Premier League title-winning campaign.
The midfielder enjoyed his best individual season for the Reds last term, recording 13 goals and 12 assists in 53 appearances across all competitions.
His outstanding performances were recognized by Liverpool supporters, who voted him the Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Season.
