Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has suffered a serious knee injury following their 4-2 victory over FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, October 20.
Despite securing an impressive win at the Parc des Princes, PSG suffered a major setback, with Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembélé and Marquinhos all sustaining injuries during the match.
According to the club’s official medical update, Kvaratskhelia has suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee and will undergo surgery in the coming days.
Dembélé has sustained an injury to his left thigh and will remain under medical care for the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, PSG captain Marquinhos has suffered a right thigh injury and will also continue receiving treatment over the coming weeks.
The three injuries represent a significant blow for PSG despite their impressive victory over Barcelona in Europe’s premier club competition.
