Paris Saint-Germain claimed a stunning 4–2 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in one of the standout fixtures of the second night of Matchday 2 in the UEFA Champions League.
Despite starting the match on the front foot, City were caught off guard early, with Désiré Doué playing a decisive role in PSG’s explosive opening. The French forward fired a low shot past Gianluigi Donnarumma in the 13th minute before setting up Ousmane Dembélé, who doubled the visitors’ lead with a header just two minutes later.

PSG continued to threaten, and Achraf Hakimi came close to adding a third in the 31st minute when his header struck the post. However, Vitinha made it 3–0 just a minute later, leaving Donnarumma exposed against his former club as the visitors took complete control of the contest.
Manchester City came out aggressively after the break in search of a comeback. Erling Haaland gave the hosts hope in the 53rd minute with a superb header to reduce the deficit. However, PSG restored their three-goal advantage in the 63rd minute when Maghnes Akliouche’s shot slipped through Donnarumma’s hands and found the net.

Haaland struck again in the 75th minute, keeping City’s comeback hopes alive and setting up a tense finale. Yet, the hosts missed a golden opportunity to make things even more interesting in the 90th minute, when Fran Torres saw his penalty saved by Donnarumma, allowing the Italian goalkeeper to make amends for his earlier error.
The result leaves Paris Saint-Germain on six points at the top of the standings, while Manchester City remain on three points in 17th place.
