Vincent Kompany, the Bayern coach (who lost 5–4 in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Luis Enrique’s PSG at the Parc des Princes), expressed frustration over the penalty awarded for a handball against his player Alphonso Davies.
The Belgian coach said: “It could have been the key moment of the match. The ball first hit his leg, then his arm… I have to understand why that is a penalty. And why they gave a corner against us when we hadn’t even touched the ball.”
Kompany said it “was a great night for football, with a lot of talent, a lot of quality from the players, and goals.” He added: “If you concede five goals away, you’re out, but we scored four and could have scored more.”
The second leg will be played on May 6 at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
