Bayern Munich arrived at Atletico Madrid's iconic Metropolitano stadium with plenty of unanswered questions but left with a fresh wave of confidence.
The German giants secured a convincing 2-0 win over Atlético, demonstrating their ability to dominate possession and see out a major away fixture. Outstanding displays from Konrad Laimer, Dayot Upamecano, and Tom Bischof played a crucial role in Bayern's impressive result.
During the post-match press conference (via @iMiaSanMia), interim manager Aaron Danks was full of praise for his team's performance.
"Really pleased with the team performance today," said Danks. "I thought our all-round game was fantastic, the way we defended together as a group to get the clean sheet. The way we attacked and created chances. We were really, really pleased with the whole team performance."
Bayern now have a few days to recover before facing another difficult away test against Mainz. Several key players will use the international break to recover from their injuries and get some much-needed rest.
