Ajax have announced that they have reached an agreement with FC Barcelona and Marc-André ter Stegen for the German goalkeeper to join the club on a season-long loan.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper arrives from the Spanish side after a highly successful spell at Camp Nou, where he established himself as one of the club’s most experienced players.

Born on April 30, 1992, in Mönchengladbach, Germany, ter Stegen began his professional career with Borussia Mönchengladbach. After three and a half seasons and 127 appearances for his hometown club, he moved to FC Barcelona in 2014.
Since joining the Catalan giants, ter Stegen has made 423 appearances and lifted numerous trophies, including the UEFA Champions League and seven league titles.
The 44-time Germany international spent the second half of last season on loan at Girona FC, where he worked under head coach Míchel Sánchez.
Ajax will now welcome an experienced goalkeeper with extensive European and international experience as they prepare for the new season.
