The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has appointed Sergen Yalçın as head coach of the Türkiye national team, with a four-year contract set to be signed.
The 53-year-old enjoyed a successful playing career with clubs including Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Trabzonspor. He later moved into coaching, leading several Turkish clubs.
Yalçın made history in the 2020/21 season by guiding Beşiktaş to both the Süper Lig title and the Turkish Cup, becoming the first person to win the league with the club as both a player and a manager.
He will now bring his club-level experience to the national team as Türkiye looks ahead to a new chapter under his leadership.
