Salah injury not season-ending as Liverpool offer positive update

Mohamed Salah’s time on the pitch for Liverpool FC this season may not be over just yet, after the club issued an encouraging fitness update on the forward.

Liverpool remain optimistic that Salah will return to action before the end of the current campaign, despite concerns following his recent injury. The 33-year-old Egyptian forward was forced off during last weekend’s Premier League victory over Crystal Palace at Anfield due to a hamstring issue.

With only four matches left in the season, there had been fears that Salah might not feature again before his expected departure from the club this summer. However, subsequent medical assessments have provided reassurance.

The club confirmed that the injury is not severe, describing it as a “minor muscle injury,” raising hopes that Salah could return in time for the closing fixtures, including the final home game against Brentford FC on May 24.

“Liverpool FC can confirm Mohamed Salah is expected to be available to play again before the end of this season,” a club statement read.

“The number 11 was substituted during the second half of last Saturday’s Premier League win over Crystal Palace at Anfield.

“The issue that caused his withdrawal has now been confirmed as a minor muscle injury.

“It is, however, anticipated Salah will return to action ahead of 2025-26’s conclusion and his departure from the Reds this summer.”
