Paris Saint-Germain have contacted Barcelona to enquire about the availability of Ferran Torres, with the 26-year-old reportedly keen to move to Paris.
Things are beginning to become clearer regarding Ferran Torres. For now, Barcelona have not received a formal offer for the forward, but there has been a significant change in the situation. PSG have finally contacted the Catalan club to ask about the possibility of signing the player, and Barcelona have received indications from Torres that he wants to move to Paris.
No concrete offer was made during the call, but the contact is seen as a prelude to a formal proposal and confirms that Ferran is willing to join the French club — a possibility that first emerged at the end of June. His representatives have communicated his desire to make the move.
Barcelona's position on Ferran has been clear since he was first linked with PSG, just one day before Spain's World Cup debut against Cape Verde: if the player wants to leave, he should say so, and the club will listen to any offer. Those indications have now arrived, although Barcelona are still waiting for an official proposal from the French side.
In any case, Barcelona are prepared to act as soon as an offer arrives. They will assess it, and if it meets the expectations for a player of Torres' profile — a World Cup winner, Spanish international and scorer in a World Cup final — as well as those of a financially powerful club such as PSG, they will accept it.
Barcelona's original intention was to renew Torres' contract, which currently runs until June 30, 2027. The club had planned to begin negotiations from September onwards, once the transfer window had closed, partly due to Financial Fair Play considerations.

According to Jijantes, Torres called Hansi Flick this week to tell the Barcelona manager that he wanted to leave the club and join PSG, which would represent a clear indication of his intentions.
