Former Juventus star Paul Pogba is set to become a free agent again with reports AS Monaco decided to cancel his contract after another injury.
It remains to be seen at this point whether or not the player wants to continue his career, or hang up his boots at the age of 33.
He had joined Monaco last summer as a free agent with a contract to June 2027, but only made six competitive appearances for the club, totalling 115 minutes of football.
According to L'Equipe, Le Parisien, Nice-Matin and more reports in France, Pogba suffered another muscular injury in pre-season, prompting Monaco to decide his time with them was over.
He featured in just one friendly match this summer for 45 minutes on July 18.
It continues the terrible fall from grace for Pogba, who at one stage was the most expensive player in the world when Juventus sold him back to Manchester United for €105m in 2016.
The France international returned to Turin as a free agent in 2022, but it was a disaster, first due to injuries, then when he was given a ban for failing a doping test.
His ban was reduced on appeal and he was allowed back into football in March 2025, but had already terminated the contract with Juventus by mutual consent in December 2024.
Pogba made 190 appearances for Juventus, scoring 34 goals with 40 assists, while there were 233 games in the Manchester United jersey.
