Mikel Arteta signs new long-term contract with Arsenal

Arsenal have confirmed that Mikel Arteta has signed a new long-term contract, keeping him at the club until June 2030.

Arsenal have officially confirmed that Mikel Arteta has signed a new long-term contract with the club, committing his future to the Gunners until June 2030.

The new deal reflects the club’s belief that the progress made under Arteta, along with last season’s historic success, marks the beginning of a special era in Arsenal’s history.

Arteta became the club’s seventh title-winning manager last season after leading Arsenal to their 14th league title. It was the club’s fourth Premier League crown and their first in 22 years.

The club and Arteta will now look to build on that success, with the shared ambition of competing consistently for major honours while continuing to strengthen the connection between Arsenal and their supporters.

Arsenal co-chairs Stan and Josh Kroenke welcomed the new agreement, saying they were proud of everything the club had achieved with Arteta since his return in 2019.

They highlighted Arteta’s deep understanding of Arsenal’s values and his commitment to building on the club’s recent achievements.

CEO Richard Garlick also described the deal as an important moment in Arsenal’s history, stating that the club wants to create a winning era alongside Arteta and continue working towards its long-term ambitions.

Arteta himself expressed his delight at committing his future to Arsenal.

“It’s a privilege to commit my future to the club and to continue to work with exceptional people who want the best for Arsenal.”

The Spaniard added that Arsenal are only at the beginning of what they can achieve together and said he felt “honoured” to lead the club through such a special period in its 140-year history.

Arteta was appointed Arsenal head coach in December 2019. Since then, he has overseen 361 matches in all competitions, recording a 62.05% win rate — the best of any full-time manager in Arsenal’s history.

With his new contract running until June 2030, Arteta will now look to lead Arsenal into the next chapter of their pursuit of domestic and European success.
