After suffering an injury during Friday’s Nations League match between Turkiye and France, Kylian Mbappé returned to Madrid to undergo medical tests, and on Saturday afternoon, Real Madrid issued an official statement regarding his condition.
It was a brief statement that did not specify how long he would be sidelined, but it did reveal the nature of his injury. “Following the tests carried out today on our player Kylian Mbappé by Real Madrid’s Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with hyperextension of the posterior capsule of his left knee. His progress will be monitored,” the statement read.
Real Madrid did not provide a timeframe for his absence, but given the nature of the injury, it is estimated that Mbappé could be out of action for around two weeks.
This comes as a relief to the Spanish club, who had feared a longer spell on the sidelines from the moment they saw the Frenchman unable to continue against Turkey.
