Lens made history on Sunday night by winning the French Super Cup, known as the Trophée des Champions, for the first time in the club’s history.
Playing at Stade Bollaert-Delelis, Lens defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1–0 in a dramatic and closely contested final. The decisive moment came in the 32nd minute, when Florian Thauvin scored the only goal of the match.
The game became increasingly intense as Lens were reduced to ten men in the 39th minute following the sending-off of Kyllian Antonio. Despite being down to ten players, Lens managed to protect their lead and withstand PSG’s pressure.
Paris Saint-Germain also finished the match with ten men after Nuno Mendes was shown a red card in the 87th minute.
Lens held on through five minutes of added time to secure a historic 1–0 victory. The final whistle triggered celebrations at Stade Bollaert-Delelis as Lens lifted the Trophée des Champions for the first time in club history.
The victory represents a landmark achievement for Lens, who claimed their first-ever French Super Cup title by defeating the reigning French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
