Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany reflected on his side's Franz Beckenbauer Supercup victory over Borussia Dortmund, praising the team's energy and fighting spirit while insisting Bayern will not ease off after their success last season.
Kompany on the Supercup win: "I'm very happy with the win. Michael Olise and Harry Kane trained three times with us and were able to play 90 minutes. Nene [Brown] and Saibari will give us a big extra this season. We still have Lenny [Karl], Jamal [Musiala] and Serge Gnabry to come back.
"Regardless of the result today, it was a statement of energy, fighting for every ball, every situation. Some people maybe think we'll have a drop because we won everything last year. But that won't be the case, we won't rest and will try to win everything."
