“This stadium changes in the final 15 minutes — you have to be ready for a real fight. We can create that same kind of atmosphere at the Allianz Arena. We are looking forward to it.”
The Bayern coach acknowledged that his side missed several chances to extend their lead but remains confident ahead of the return leg.
“We had chances that we should have converted. Hopefully, we will find the net at the Allianz. I see no reason why we can't win again, but the Real Madrid players possess incredible talent.”
Kompany also explained his tactical approach during the match, initially keeping changes conservative before shifting strategy late on to secure the result.
“The team deserved the right to be themselves — they have won so much and shown such a high level, which is why my first substitutions were like-for-like. However, towards the end, I moved to close out the game.”
