Germany manager Jurgen Klopp has imposed four strict rules his players must obey ahead of his first game in charge of his national team.
Klopp, 59, returned to the dugout two years after rolling credits on his glittering nine-season run as Liverpool boss where he won every honour available, including the club’s first ever Premier League title.
The German tactician is tasked with restoring Die Mannschaft back to prominence – like he did with the Reds – after a disastrous World Cup campaign that saw them getting eliminated in the last-32.
Germany lost to Paraguay on penalties and that led to then manager Julian Nagelsmann’s departure after a poor three-year stint, which extended the team’s misery in the post-Joachim Low era.
And Klopp is now laying down the law as he prepares for his first match in charge against the Netherlands on Thursday in Amsterdam with some new and different standards players were used to under Nagelsmann.
According to BILD, there is a major shakedown taking place within the German ranks.
Firstly, Germany stars must arrive together and on time for scheduled team dinners.
Germany aces used to show up gradually under Nagelsmann but Klopp insists everyone should be together at the same time as that will allow them to strengthen a sense of togetherness.
Furthermore, no phones are allowed before matches with the Liverpool legend demanding complete focus and communication within the squad.
Conversations with team-mates, though, are strongly encouraged.
Additionally, haircuts are now banned at the team hotel as the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss wants his men to be total professionals.
Thus, Germany stars will be expected to take care of themselves before arriving on international duty, like any employee would.
Finally, family visits will be significantly restricted during major tournaments.
Nagelsmann was heavily criticised for allowing players’ folks and WAGs to be with them at all times during the World Cup.
Under Klopp, this will only be permitted on an occasional basis during major tournaments, such as the upcoming Euro 2028 in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
The players should instead focus on their shared goal and grow together as a team at the hotel.
