Enrique Riquelme has stirred controversy after announcing that he would approach Jürgen Klopp to become Real Madrid’s head coach if he defeats Florentino Pérez in the club’s next presidential election.
However, the idea was swiftly shut down by Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke, who dismissed the remarks in comments reported by Sky Sports Germany.
“It’s annoying! Jürgen Klopp is happy in his role at Red Bull and has no ambition to work as a coach at a club,” Kosicke said.
According to the German outlet, Klopp is not considering a return to club management and would only contemplate a move back to the dugout if he were offered the opportunity to manage the German national team.
Riquelme’s comments had sparked widespread discussion among Real Madrid supporters, but Kosicke’s response appears to have ended any speculation regarding Klopp’s potential arrival at the Santiago Bernabéu.
