Marcelo Brozovic has officially joined Qatari side Al-Sadd on a free transfer. The former Inter and Croatia midfielder had been linked with Juventus, Lazio and Fiorentina, but will not return to Italy.
Brozovic, born in 1992, became a free agent after his contract with Saudi champions Al-Nassr expired on June 30. Al-Ittihad and Trabzonspor had also shown interest in the midfielder.
At Al-Sadd, managed by Romanian coach Razvan Lucescu, Brozovic will reunite with former Lazio defender Alessio Romagnoli, who recently joined the Qatari club.
Throughout his career, Brozovic has played for Hrvatski Dragovoljac, Lokomotiva Zagreb, Dinamo Zagreb, Inter, Al-Nassr and the Croatia national team.
