Lead: Inter Milan have completed the signing of England international wing-back Djed Spence from Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent transfer, with the 26-year-old agreeing to a contract with the Serie A champions until June 2031.

Inter Milan have signed England international Djed Spence from Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent transfer, the Serie A club announced on Saturday.

The 26-year-old has signed a contract with Inter until June 30, 2031. British media reported that the Italian champions paid around £30 million ($40.59 million) for the wing-back.

“Spence joins the Nerazzurri from Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent transfer and has signed a contract with the club until June 30, 2031,” Inter said in a statement.

Spence leaves Tottenham after four years at the North London club, where he made 85 appearances and helped the team win the Europa League. However, limited first-team opportunities saw him spend time on loan at Stade Rennais, Leeds United and Genoa before establishing himself in the Spurs squad.

The England international was also part of Thomas Tuchel’s squad at the 2026 World Cup, making eight appearances, including in England’s third-place playoff victory.

At Inter, Spence will join fellow England international John Stones, who moved to the Italian club from Manchester City on a two-year contract.
