MARCA travelled to Munich to present Harry Kane with the Los 100 de MARCA by Orange award, which recognises the best player of the season, as selected by an international jury. This year’s edition honours the standout performer of the 2025-26 campaign.
The England striker, who has become Bayern Munich’s leading goalscoring figure since joining the club, received the award following an extraordinary season in which he scored 73 goals in 65 appearances for Bayern and England between August 2025 and July 2026. It was another campaign that showcased his remarkable finishing ability and importance to the German side — a season Kane himself described as “unforgettable”.
MARCA was in Munich to present the trophy to the England captain, who expressed his gratitude for receiving the Los 100 de MARCA by Orange award.
“Many thanks to MARCA. It was an incredible season, a year I will never forget. I want to thank everyone at MARCA for this trophy, my teammates and my fans as well,” Kane said.
We have met Kane on several occasions while covering various events for MARCA, and the impression has always been the same: few players are more professional and courteous than Harry. This occasion was no different.
Kane took hold of the trophy, admired it several times and delivered the words viewers can watch and hear in the video accompanying this article. It all happened in Munich, where MARCA was there to capture the moment.
As those who know him well often point out, Kane is not one to boast about his own achievements. He demonstrated the same modesty in a recent interview with MARCA, during which we asked him about his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or.
His response was characteristically measured:
“It’s complicated. I’ve never liked talking too much about myself. The only thing I would say is that last season was incredible, both personally and for the team. It was by far the best season of my life.
“It’s true that reaching 73 goals, the second-highest total in history [behind Lionel Messi’s 82 goals in 69 appearances during the 2011-12 season], speaks for itself. I’m extremely proud of that. I can only thank my teammates and everyone who helped make it possible.
“But the Ballon d’Or is not in my hands. It depends on the people who vote.”
Kane’s remarkable goal tally and his contribution to Bayern Munich’s success have put him firmly among the standout players of the season. However, true to his understated character, the England captain is leaving the final decision to the voters.
