The fate of Group L at the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been decided, with England finishing top of the group, while Croatia and Ghana also secured places in the knockout stage.
At New York/New Jersey Stadium, England defeated Panama 2-0 to claim first place in the standings.
The Three Lions struggled to break down Panama's defense in the first half despite creating several chances. Thomas Tuchel's side finally found the breakthrough in the 62nd minute when Bukayo Saka's corner was met by Jude Bellingham, who fired home with a first-time finish. Just five minutes later, Harry Kane doubled England's lead with a powerful header, sealing a comfortable victory.

Meanwhile, at Philadelphia Stadium, Croatia earned a hard-fought 2-1 win over Ghana to book their place in the next round.
Croatia started brightly and took the lead in the 31st minute through Petar Sučić, whose low strike found the back of the net after sustained pressure. The Croatians focused on protecting their advantage after the break, but Ghana equalized in the 73rd minute through Derrick Luckassen. The goal was confirmed following a VAR review. However, Croatia responded quickly, and in the 83rd minute Nikola Vlašić headed home Luka Modrić's corner to restore the lead and secure all three points.

In the final Group L standings, England finished first with seven points, Croatia claimed second place with six points, and Ghana advanced in third with four points. Panama finished bottom of the group without a point and was eliminated from the tournament.
