Diego Forlán will manage Uruguay until the next international break in March.
Since there will be elections in the Uruguayan Federation at the end of the year, that is when it will be decided whether he stays on or not.
Initially, Forlán was set to coach Uruguay’s Under-20 side at the South American Championship next January, something he will still do, but now he will have to combine it with the senior national team until then.
The former Atlético Madrid man will replace Marcelo Bielsa.
