Cristiano Ronaldo had another chance to lift silverware with Al Nassr as they faced Gamba Osaka in the AFC Champions League Two final. However, the Saudi club fell short in a disappointing 1-0 loss.
Despite focusing heavily on the Saudi Pro League throughout the season and rotating the squad at times, Al Nassr entered the final with confidence after a dominant run in the tournament, winning all 10 of their previous matches. However, they failed to reproduce the same level of performance in the decisive game.
Gamba Osaka delivered a disciplined display and relied on an outstanding performance from goalkeeper Araki. The Japanese side took the lead through Hummet in the 30th minute, and the goal ultimately proved enough to secure the title.
Al Nassr pushed for an equalizer in the second half, with Joao Felix among those creating chances, but Araki’s saves preserved Gamba Osaka’s advantage and sealed the championship victory.
