Colombia secured top spot in Group K at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after playing out a goalless draw with Portugal, while DR Congo produced a second-half comeback to beat Uzbekistan 3-1 and book their place in the knockout stage.
In the group's headline clash at Miami Stadium, Colombia and Portugal shared the points in a hard-fought 0-0 draw.
The first half was dominated by both goalkeepers, who made a series of crucial saves to keep the scores level. Colombia enjoyed more possession and created the better chances, but wasteful finishing and an outstanding performance from Diogo Costa, backed by Portugal's disciplined defense, denied Los Cafeteros a breakthrough. Davinson Sánchez thought he had scored in stoppage time, only for the goal to be ruled out for a marginal offside after a VAR review.

Meanwhile, at Atlanta Stadium, DR Congo came from behind to defeat Uzbekistan 3-1 and seal qualification for the Round of 16.
Uzbekistan struck first in the 10th minute when Eldor Shomurodov capitalized on hesitation in the Congolese defense. Nathan Mbuku briefly believed he had equalized seven minutes later, but his effort was disallowed for a foul in the build-up. Needing a victory to stay alive, DR Congo continued to push forward and were rewarded with a penalty in the 68th minute, converted by Yoane Wissa. Fiston Mayele completed the turnaround in the 78th minute with a close-range finish before Wissa added a second goal deep into stoppage time to secure a memorable comeback.

Colombia finished top of Group K with seven points, while Portugal advanced as runners-up with five. DR Congo claimed one of the tournament's best third-place qualification spots with four points, while pointless Uzbekistan exited the competition.
