Uli Hoeness was a busy man last night, before and after Bayern Munich’s DFB Pokal triumph against VfB Stuttgart at the Olympiastadion.
Ahead of the final, Hoeness, who serves as the honorary president of FC Bayern, was asked about Jose Mourinho watching the Bayern match with an eye on Michael Olise.
Hoeness poked fun at Mourinho, stating that Real Madrid won’t get Olise even if Mourinho keeps five eyes on the Frenchman.
Hoeness on Barcelona-Kane links
After the game, Hoeness was asked about another transfer rumour – Harry Kane being linked with a move to Barcelona, after the departure of Robert Lewandowski.
The German did not hold back this time either, assuring that Lewandowski will remain at Bayern while poking fun at Barcelona’s economic situation.
“FC Bayern is a buying club not a selling club,” Hoeness said when asked about Kane being linked with a move to Barcelona.
“Barcelona have no money anyway,” he added, assuring fans that the Englishman will continue at the Allianz Arena next season.
Barcelona’s candidates to replace Lewandowski
Lewandowski played his final game for Barcelona last night as the Catalans lost to Valencia at the Mestalla.
The club now have a daunting task of replacing the Polish goal machine. They have been linked with a few players already, with Harry Kane being one of them. However, it is clear that Bayern have no desire to sell the Englishman.
Other than Kane, Barça are keeping tabs on two more forwards in the form of Chelsea’s Joao Pedro and Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez.
However, all three of these players could cost a fortune in the market, which is where Barcelona’s economic situation comes into the picture, though recent reports have indicated that the Catalans have kept €100 million aside to replace Lewandowski.
