Today marks one week since the best day of Ferran Torres’ career, a player who is highly admired by Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain. However, no official news has reached Can Barça, neither from the player or his representatives nor from the current European champions.
The 26-year-old author of the goal that gave Spain its second World Cup title is still taking time off, and his return to the Ciutat Esportiva is not expected until August 10, after three weeks of vacation. The Catalan club believes that if Ferran, whose contract runs until 2027, is thinking about leaving this summer, he should be the one to speak up and approach the club.

Barça continues to count on him as an important asset and wants to renew his contract, despite the €8 million that would have to be paid to Manchester City, as was stipulated in the January 2022 transfer agreement. The plan of the Barcelona board is to do this in September, once the summer transfer window has closed, due to financial fair play regulations.
Ferran Torres has scored 65 goals in 207 appearances for Barça. Last season was his best campaign as a Barcelona player, with 21 goals in 49 matches, surpassing the 19 goals in 45 games he scored the previous season. During that period, he was decisive in several matches, such as the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid (3–2), where he forced extra time before Jules Koundé’s winning goal avoided a penalty shootout.
