Aston Villa have officially announced the signing of Leon Goretzka.
The experienced German midfielder joins the club on a free transfer, bringing with him 73 international caps and a UEFA Champions League winner’s medal from his time at Bayern Munich.
Goretzka arrives with more than 500 senior appearances to his name. He began his career at hometown club VfL Bochum before making his mark at Schalke 04.
Since joining Bayern in 2018, the midfielder has enjoyed a remarkable spell in Bavaria, winning seven Bundesliga titles and establishing himself as one of Germany’s most respected players.
