C.D. Leganés have reached an agreement with Como 1907 to sign Álvaro Borja Morata Martín on a season-long loan. The 33-year-old Spanish striker will spend the 2026–27 season with the Pepinero side, with Leganés holding an option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign.
A vastly experienced forward with more than 600 professional appearances and over 200 goals to his name, Morata arrives at Ontime Butarque as one of the most accomplished Spanish strikers of his generation.
The Spanish international has won more than 20 major honours throughout his career. Among his most notable achievements are the UEFA European Championship and UEFA Nations League with Spain, two UEFA Champions League titles, two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies and a FIFA Club World Cup.
Morata began his professional career with Real Madrid in 2010 and established himself as a regular first-team player during the 2013–14 season. That campaign proved particularly successful, as he helped Madrid win both the Copa del Rey and Champions League, securing the first major trophies of his senior career.
At the end of the season, Morata moved to Juventus, where he spent two seasons and won two Serie A titles. His career would subsequently take him to several of Europe’s biggest clubs, further establishing his reputation as one of Spain’s most experienced and decorated forwards.
Morata also played a key role for the Spanish national team, captaining La Roja during their successful Euro 2024 campaign.
