Al-Sadd have officially completed the signing of Italian defender Alessio Romagnoli from Lazio for a reported €3 million fee.
The 31-year-old centre-back has signed a contract with the Qatari club until June 2030, bringing an end to his four-year spell at Lazio.
Romagnoli began his professional career at Roma, making 13 appearances and scoring once between 2012 and 2015. During the 2014/15 season, he joined Sampdoria on loan, where he made 30 appearances and scored two goals.
In 2015, Romagnoli moved to AC Milan, spending seven seasons at the club and becoming an important figure in their defence. He made 197 appearances for Milan, scoring eight goals.
Romagnoli joined Lazio in 2022 and spent four seasons with the Biancocelesti before completing his move to Al-Sadd in 2026.
At international level, he represented Italy from 2016 to 2023, earning 13 caps and scoring two goals.
The Italian defender now begins a new chapter in Qatar, with his long-term contract keeping him at Al-Sadd until June 2030.
