Switzerland recorded a commanding victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina in the second round of Group B at the FIFA World Cup 2026, played at SoFi Stadium, strengthening their position in the group.
The first half saw a strong start from Switzerland national football team, who dominated possession and created early chances but were unable to break through. Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team gradually grew into the match and generated a few opportunities of their own, with the sides going into halftime level at 0–0.
After the break, Switzerland increased the intensity and continued to pile on pressure. Dan Ndoye came close in the 56th minute with an overhead kick that narrowly missed. The breakthrough arrived in the 74th minute when Johan Manzambi, introduced just two minutes earlier, finished clinically from inside the box.

Bosnia’s task became significantly harder in the 80th minute after Tarik Muharemović was sent off. Switzerland capitalised immediately, with Ruben Vargas scoring a precise low finish in the 84th minute before Manzambi added his second goal in the 90th minute to extend the lead.
Bosnia briefly reduced the deficit in stoppage time through Armin Mahmić (90+3), but Switzerland responded again deep into added time when Granit Xhaka converted a penalty in the 90+7 minute to seal a dominant win.
The result moves Switzerland onto four points and puts them in a strong position to advance from the group stage.
