Iran and Belgium played out a goalless draw in their second Group G match at the Los Angeles Stadium, leaving qualification scenarios open heading into the final round.
Belgium started strongly and created several early chances through Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku, but goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand made a series of important saves. Iran responded with opportunities from Hossein Kanaani and Saeid Ezatolahi, while Thibaut Courtois was also called into action.
The biggest moment of the first half came in the 23rd minute when Mehdi Taremi found the net following a clever free-kick routine. However, the goal was disallowed for offside after a VAR review.

Iran looked more dangerous after the break. In the 52nd minute, Courtois produced an outstanding save to deny Taremi from close range. Belgium threatened through De Bruyne and Dodi Lukebakio, but Beiranvand remained solid.
A turning point arrived in the 66th minute when Belgium defender Nathan Ngoy received a straight red card for pulling back Taremi as the Iranian striker raced clear on goal. Despite playing against ten men for the remainder of the match, Iran could not find a breakthrough.
Beiranvand made another crucial save late in the game to preserve the clean sheet, and the match ended 0-0.
