Real Madrid have confirmed that Fede Valverde has suffered an ankle injury and is expected to be sidelined for around two to three weeks.
The Uruguayan midfielder picked up the injury during the derby against Atlético Madrid following a challenge from Kang-in Lee. Despite the issue, Valverde managed to play until the final whistle.
Following medical tests, Real Madrid confirmed that the 27-year-old has sustained a grade 3 sprain in his left ankle.
The club said in a statement: “Following the tests carried out today on our player Fede Valverde by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a grade 3 sprain in his left ankle. Awaiting further progress.”
Real Madrid expect Valverde to spend approximately two to three weeks on the sidelines, subject to his recovery.
