England and Ghana played out a goalless draw at Boston Stadium in Massachusetts in their Group L encounter at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana adopted an extremely defensive approach, similar to the style of teams managed by Carlos Queiroz, spending most of the match in their own half and allowing England to dominate possession and control the rhythm of the game. As a result, Ghana failed to register a single shot on target, which kept clear scoring opportunities to a minimum throughout the match.
In the closing stages of the second half, England increased the pressure on Ghana’s goal, with Harry Kane coming close when his effort struck the post, as luck continued to favor the African side.

Carlos Queiroz, who previously suffered a 6–2 defeat to England while managing Iran at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, was involved in a verbal confrontation with England midfielder Jude Bellingham at the end of the first half.
In the end, Thomas Tuchel’s side earned a draw and moved to four points, remaining top of the group. Carlos Queiroz’s team also sit on four points but are placed second due to an inferior goal difference.
