Manchester City produced a dominant second-half performance to comfortably defeat Chelsea 3–0 at Stamford Bridge, strengthening their position in the Premier League title race and increasing the pressure on leaders Arsenal.
The first half was relatively balanced, with both sides probing for openings but struggling to create clear chances. Chelsea showed some attacking intent but lacked the cutting edge, while City remained patient, waiting for the right moment to strike.
That moment came shortly after the break. In the 51st minute, N. O'Reilly broke the deadlock with a composed finish to put City ahead. The goal shifted the momentum entirely, and just six minutes later, M. Guéhi doubled the lead in the 57th minute, taking advantage of defensive uncertainty inside the Chelsea back line.
City continued to dominate proceedings, and their superiority was confirmed in the 68th minute when Jérémy Doku added a third goal with a sharp and clinical finish, effectively ending the contest.
Chelsea struggled to respond and were unable to recover from City’s quick-fire double, as their inconsistency once again proved costly. In contrast, City’s control, efficiency, and attacking quality underlined why they remain one of the most dangerous sides in the league at this stage of the season.
Following this result, Manchester City now have 64 points and sit in second place, six points behind league leaders Arsenal, keeping the title race very much alive. Chelsea, meanwhile, remain in sixth place with 48 points, still in contention for European spots but needing greater consistency in the weeks ahead.
