PSG edge Bayern 5–4 in nine-goal thriller at Parc des Princes

Paris Saint-Germain survived a dramatic late surge from Bayern Munich to secure a thrilling 5–4 victory in the first leg, with goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembélé proving decisive in a chaotic, end-to-end contest at Parc des Princes.

Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich produced a sensational nine-goal thriller at the Parc des Princes, with PSG edging a dramatic 5–4 victory in the first leg.

Bayern struck first in the 17th minute when Harry Kane calmly converted a penalty to give the visitors an early lead. PSG responded quickly, as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia equalized in the 24th minute with a composed finish.

The hosts took control midway through the half when João Neves scored in the 33rd minute, but Bayern hit back again before the break. Michael Olise made it 2–2 in the 41st minute, continuing the back-and-forth nature of the match.

Deep into first-half stoppage time, PSG regained the lead as Ousmane Dembélé converted a penalty (45+5’), sending the home side into halftime ahead 3–2.

The second half began just as explosively. Kvaratskhelia scored his second of the night in the 56th minute to extend PSG’s lead, and moments later Dembélé struck again in the 59th minute, making it 5–2 and seemingly putting the game beyond reach.

However, Bayern mounted a fierce comeback. Dayot Upamecano pulled one back in the 65th minute, before Luis Díaz added another in the 69th minute to reduce the deficit to 5–4.

The final stages were played at a frantic pace, with Bayern pushing hard for an equalizer and PSG struggling to maintain defensive stability. Despite the pressure, the hosts held on to secure a narrow but crucial first-leg advantage.
