Mohamed Salah injury: Has Liverpool star played his final game for the club?

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah faces an uncertain future after suffering a hamstring injury against Crystal Palace, raising doubts about whether he has already played his final match for the club before his planned departure at the end of the season.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot says the club must “wait and see” on the severity of Mohamed Salah’s injury after the Egyptian forward was forced off during the win over Crystal Palace at Anfield.

Salah, 33, went down holding his left leg and was substituted in the 59th minute, casting doubt over his availability for the remainder of the season. The forward had already confirmed he will leave Liverpool this summer, adding further significance to the injury setback.

Slot admitted it is too early to determine whether Salah has played his final game for the club, but suggested the nature of the substitution raised concerns.

“For Mo to leave the pitch, it shows you something,” Slot said. “We have to wait and see how bad it is.”

Despite the injury, Salah was able to walk off unaided, taking time to applaud supporters around Anfield — a gesture that fueled speculation it could be his farewell appearance.

The former Roma star has enjoyed a remarkable spell at Liverpool since joining in 2017, scoring 257 goals in 435 appearances. He ranks third on the club’s all-time scoring list and has won multiple major trophies, including the Premier League and Champions League.

Liverpool now await medical tests to assess the extent of the hamstring problem. Any significant injury could rule Salah out of key upcoming fixtures, including a high-profile clash against Manchester United.

With only weeks remaining in the campaign, the focus is now on whether Salah can recover in time to feature again before bringing his Liverpool career to a close.
