According to reports from Marca, José Mourinho has emerged as the only remaining candidate to take charge of Real Madrid after the end of the season, with his return now appearing increasingly likely.
The Spanish club is reportedly close to finalising the agreement, with internal discussions suggesting that the financial details are not seen as major obstacles. One such issue is a €3 million compensation fee linked to SL Benfica, which Real Madrid considers a minor formality.
If the deal is completed, Mourinho would also be given influence over squad planning, including decisions on both incoming and outgoing transfers.
While no official confirmation has been made yet, the announcement is expected in the coming days, with only formalities remaining before his return becomes official.
