Iconic striker who left £65k poker winnings in taxi and had £260k supercar stolen reveals he’s been hit by thieves again

Former Germany striker Max Kruse has suffered another theft incident after his car was broken into during a trip to the Nürburgring via Cologne, with thieves stealing his bag containing important personal documents and bank cards.

Max Kruse has been hit by thieves yet again after his car was broken into.

The iconic striker was robbed while on his way to Nurburgring via Cologne.

During the stop, Kruse, 38, and his wife, TV star Dilara, were targeted by thieves.

He discovered the theft after returning to his car and found that his bag had been stolen.

The bag contained his bank cards and IDs.

Kruse revealed the theft on social media, speaking on his Instagram channel with 467,000 followers.

He said: “Last week my car was broken into while we were in Cologne.

“My bag was stolen with all my IDs and credit cards.

“I had everything blocked and now I have to reapply for everything because I’m heading to Las Vegas in four weeks.”

It is not the first time that the former VfL Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen star has had his valuables stolen.

During the 2015–16 season with Wolfsburg, he lost a bag containing €75,000 (£65k) cash in a Berlin taxi.

Kruse had won the money at a casino alongside friends but initially thought some women he met were to blame.

He said: “I was sitting in the back with two women, so I wasn’t paying attention to the backpack.

“I had to sit in the middle and thought to myself: ‘Backpack in the trunk, no problem’.

“Back then, I was more susceptible to the allure of women.”

In October 2022, his £260,000 Lamborghini was stolen and wrecked.

The supercar was found two days later with £35,000 worth of damage.

Kruse has also been involved in controversy after being dropped from the Germany squad ahead of the 2014 World Cup.

He was caught in his hotel room with an escort on the eve of the match against England at Wembley in November 2013.

The ex-forward was also forced to build a chicken coop in dungarees and was fined after his Nutella addiction was exposed in 2016.
