Harry Kane once again made headlines on a dramatic Champions League night, as the Bayern Munich striker set a new English record despite his side’s narrow 5-4 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their semi-final clash.
The 32-year-old opened the scoring for Bayern in the 17th minute, calmly converting a penalty after Luis Díaz was brought down inside the box. That goal proved historic, as it saw Kane become the first English player ever to score in six consecutive UEFA Champions League matches, surpassing Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard, who previously held the record with five straight games during the 2007–08 season.
Beyond the record-breaking streak, Kane also reached a personal milestone in what has been his most productive season to date. The England captain has now registered 61 goal contributions across all competitions, consisting of 54 goals and 7 assists.
Despite Bayern Munich suffering a chaotic and narrow defeat in one of the season’s most entertaining matches, Kane’s individual brilliance once again stood out, underlining his importance as one of Europe’s most consistent and lethal forwards.
