According to Football Insider, Chelsea are weighing up moves for both Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis after deciding to part ways with Liam Rosenior. The decision comes after a poor run of form, with the Blues suffering a fifth consecutive Premier League defeat on Tuesday night.
Sources indicate that club owner Todd Boehly opted to make a swift decision, ending Rosenior’s tenure just 15 weeks into what had been a long-term six-and-a-half-year contract. Despite initially showing patience, Chelsea’s hierarchy ultimately chose to act amid worsening results.
The report adds that Chelsea are keen on appointing a former player as their next manager, with both Fabregas and Luis impressing with their recent work. Fabregas is currently managing Italian side Como, while Luis recently departed Flamengo after a successful spell that saw him win seven trophies.
Football Insider also notes that Chelsea had already been exploring contingency plans prior to Rosenior’s departure, anticipating the possibility of continued struggles on the pitch.
